RYDE SECONDARY COLLEGE
Parent & Citizen Association
Welcome to Ryde Secondary College Parents and Citizens Association (P&C).
The P&C is a voluntary association run by parents. We routinely meet with the School Executive (Principal and Deputy Principals), other teaching representatives of the school and interested community groups once a month.
We meet on the third Wednesday of each month during school terms in the Library at 7:00 pm. We aim to raise funds, purchase resources and generally compliment the school, its funding and its success.
If you have always wondered what the P&C do, who we are, or how we operate, we welcome you to come along to one of our meetings and participate — we are a friendly, welcoming and supportive group.
Being part of the P&C is a rewarding experience that allows parents to have input into certain areas of the school and provides members with deeper understanding of the school. It also appears to have benefits to your child as they are generally pleased their parents are part of their school community. It offers a sense of pride for you and your child.
The P&C has been involved in many areas of the school and have proudly provided:
The Annual Welcome BBQ for all our new Year 7 students and their family
New mobile gas barbecue
Fundraising Council Election Day BBQ
Subsidy for electrical improvements to the COLA
Parting gifts to staff members
Financial support to students for State Sporting representation
Nearly $30,000 to RSC for provision of school faculty resources
Purchase of the School Bus
Morning Teas to celebrate World Teachers Day, National SASS Day
School Assistance Uniform Program
Please consider supporting your child’s education through this effective, open and enthusiastic group. We would love to see you at a meeting and welcome any questions.
