English as a Second Language
The College has a large population of students for whom English is their second language.
Many students were born here and speak English or their first language at home while others are new arrivals with limited experience in English.
Those students who have only recently arrived in Australia are supported with individual or small group assistance. They are also assisted in the classroom and with their course work across the curriculum. We also welcome International Students.
Learning Assistance
The College provides students with special learning needs, the support to enable them to succeed. A considerable number of students in the College benefit from engagement in alternative or adjusted programs and are supported in many ways.
Those with learning difficulties are given individual assistance to achieve the outcomes of their courses and to complete tasks.
Students who wish to follow a vocational pathway are encouraged to take advantage of the TAFE Care Link courses in a variety of interest areas and to participate in work experience one day per week.
We also cater for students who require Special Provisions for examinations.
